Tennis, darts & cue sports
Sports with one competitor per side follow the same price logic as a greyhound race, with fewer runners to separate. This section carries the odds habits of racing into those games.
Darts, snooker, tennis and golf do most of the work; padel, table tennis, badminton, curling and chess appear now and then. In golf the each-way idea returns, and the number of places paid is read from the market, as it differs between events and operators.
Britain has no statutory list of markets that may be offered. A licence is held for a category such as real events, and the bookmaker writes the markets under its own rules, so the same match can be priced differently from one firm to the next.
